"A gentleman and a scholar" is one of the most accurate phrases describing Dr. George A. Farhat. One of the most qualified pain specialists in the country, Dr. George Farhat is constantly pursuing excellence in his treatment of chronic, acute, and neoplastic pain at Advanced Pain Care Centers and The Texas Institute of Pain Medicine. He also demonstrates a combination of a gentle, yet thorough, manner when communicating with his patients.

Dr. Farhat’s pursuit of excellence in evident in his unique credentials. He is one of a few select pain specialists in the country to have earned credentials from all three major certifying organizations in the field of pain management, Dr. Farhat is Diplomate American Board of Anesthesiology with Subspecialty in Pain Management (Added Qualfications), Diplomate American Board of Pain Medicine, and Diplomate American Academy of Pain Management. He is also certified as Diplomate American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.

A native of Kherbet Kanafar, Lebanon, Dr. Farhat received his M. D. degree from St. Joseph University School of Medicine in Beirut. He completed residencies in General Surgery at The Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, New York and St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, and a residency in Anesthesia at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Farhat completed his fellowship in Pain Management at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He is licensed in Texas, Ohio, and Iowa.

Dr. Farhat’s professional memberships include the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, The American Academy of Pain Management, The American Academy of Pain Medicine, the Texas Society of Anethesiologists, the Tarrant County Medical Soceity, and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Farhat lives in Arlington. His hobbies include water volleyball, golf, swimming and snorkeling. He also enjoys traveling and going to pro football, basketball, and baseball games.
